Myspace Launches PPC Platform for Musicians
On June 30, Myspace Tom sent out a mass email to member musicians concerning the new Myspace pay per click ad sales program beta
The program, called “Find Your Fans,” allows artists to pay for ad space on the most popular social network in the US.
Advertising musicians can choose where ads will be shown, displaying their ads to individuals whose profile matches the artists’ specifications. Myspace provides a variety of pre-built templates in which advertisers can add their own text, images and logos. Additionally, artists may upload their own ads to run in their campaign.
Myspace is using a flat cost per click model, where each click costs 25 cents, and advertisers set a maximum budget up front.
“Find Your Friends” is currently testing in beta. Ads must be approved by Myspace’s team before they can run, and participants must be invited by Myspace after applying to be part of the beta test for the program.
We applied for the program with one of our employee’s myspace band accounts, and we’ve been waiting for over a week to hear back from Myspace. When we do, we’ll update the blog with screen shots and a walk through of the program.
